(Norwalk, Conn.) Today, December 21, 2022, Mayor Rilling announced the appointment of Deputy Chief James Walsh to serve as Interim Chief of the Norwalk Police Department, effective immediately, following the retirement of Chief Thomas Kulhawik.
After nearly 40 years of service to the Norwalk Police Department and ten years as Chief, Kulhawik announced his retirement. His last day as Chief was yesterday, December 20, and his official retirement date is January 4, 2023.
The Norwalk Police Commission will appoint a permanent Chief to the Department in the new year.
