There were 62,487 white students enrolled in Fairfield County in the 2023-24 school year, 2.4% less than the previous year, according to the Connecticut State Department of Education.

Data showed that Fairfield County welcomed 142,077 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, white students comprised 44% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the 237 schools in Fairfield County, Greenwich High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 1,532 students.

Student enrollment has been dropping in Connecticut’s public schools for over a decade now. With the exception of a slight relief in the 2021-22 school year, schools in the state have lost more than 30,000 students since 2014.
