Managing Stress in Stressful Times: Incorporating Lifestyle Changes on the Path to Wellness

The pandemic, personal, and national issues have made the current  time more stressful than ever. Join Nancy Higbee, APRN and Dr. Latha  Chirunomula from Westport Medical and Wellness Center for an informative  and interactive discussion on wellness, the various forms of stress,  and six pillars of health that can be a focus in managing lifestyle  during stressful times. Attendees will come away with practical tools  for stress reduction - including lifestyle management, mindfulness and  meditation - as well as deep breathing techniques for relaxation.

BIOS

Nancy Higbee, APRN practiced internal  medicine/primary care at a Yale-New Haven Hospital outpatient internal  medicine practice for over 10 years. She has also worked in Public  Health as a visiting nurse in Manhattan for many years, assisting with  medical problems and providing support as well as holistic strategies to  treat anxiety and depression which people face daily.

Nancy earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Master  of Science Degree as an Adult and Holistic Nurse Practitioner from New  York University. She is board certified through the American Academy of  Nurse Practitioners and duly licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in New  York and Connecticut.

 

Dr. Latha Chirunomula grew up in Wilton and trained  at Yale University and Norwalk Hospital. She is well-versed in  traditional allopathic medicine and also employs complementary  alternative medicine methods whenever possible, believing that examining  the mind-body relationship is important for a variety of conditions.  One of the things she is most proud of and grateful for is her clinical  work experience in South India and in Trinidad & Tobago, West  Indies, along with working in Washington D.C. as well as Northern  Virginia.  As a result of this background, Dr. Chirunomula carries a  more global understanding of the individual and cultural aspects of  health care which benefits her patients in achieving their health goals.
