(Norwalk, Conn.) Today, August 12, 2022, Mayor Rilling announced that he is directing City of Norwalk buildings to return their flags to full-staff by sunset this evening.
City building flags are currently at half-staff, following Mayor Rilling’s announcement on July 26, 2022, to lower them in honor of Mayor Bill Collins. Mayor Collins passed away on July 21, 2022, in an automobile accident in Farmington, New Mexico.
Mayor Collins served two terms as Mayor of the City of Norwalk from 1977-1981 and 1983 to 1987. Before becoming Mayor, he also served as a state representative from 1975 to 1977, representing the 140th District.
