The City of Norwalk Transitions its Bi-weekly COVID Reports to a Virtual COVID Data Hub Format

(Norwalk, Conn.) Today, August  5, 2022, Mayor Rilling announced that the City of Norwalk will  transition from its Bi-weekly COVID Reports to a virtual COVID Data Hub  format that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We  want to empower the community to have access to Norwalk-specific COVID  data trends, in addition to state trends, and local resources 24 hours a  day, seven days a week,” said Mayor Rilling. “As COVID  evolves and changes, so will our online Norwalk COVID Data Hub so that  residents can access the information they need in real time. Through  website analytics, we know that over 130,000 individuals visited the  City’s COVID-related links on the City’s website from December 2021  through May 2022. There is clearly a demand for this important  information, and now, the community will have access to a centralized  and continuously evolving COVID resource at their disposal.”

Beginning  today, the Norwalk COVID Data Hub will provide individuals with access  to similar information that existed in the Mayor’s Bi-weekly COVID  Reports. This information includes Norwalk and state-level COVID data  trends and analyses, local resources, and updates and reminders,  including information from the Connecticut Department of Public Health  (DPH) and the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention. You can access  the new Norwalk COVID Data Hub by visiting www.norwalkct.org/coviddata.

The Norwalk COVID Data Hub will be available as part of the centralized online COVID Information Center (www.norwalkct.org/covid),  which includes important COVID preventive health information such as  how to access COVID vaccines, testing, contact tracing tools,  precautions and guidance documents, and more.

The City of Norwalk  is mirroring recent data sharing practices by the CT DPH, which provides  a dedicated COVID data and analyses webpage with essential COVID  information and data trends.

Later today, the public will  receive the final version of Mayor Rilling’s Bi-weekly COVID Report.  Moving forward, the Norwalk COVID Data Hub will be updated on a routine  basis throughout the week and onwards.
