(Norwalk, Conn.) – Today, April 18th, Mayor Rilling announced that its COVID-19 community testing location will move from Shady Beach to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion lower parking lot (295 West Avenue) starting today. Testing at this site is performed by Quest Diagnostics.
Saturday, April 16th, was the final day that the Shady Beach location offered COVID-19 testing as scheduled. Testing at the new location, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion lower parking lot, will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 2:00 - 5:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
"Like so many of you, I am ready for this pandemic to be over and know that the past two years plus have been a challenging time for everyone,” said Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling. “However, we must stay vigilant, especially as our City experiences an uptick in COVID cases. That’s why I’m proud that this new testing location at the lower parking lot at Lockwood-Mathews Mansion will continue to offer our residents with the best tools available to ensure they remain as safe and healthy as possible. Together, we can mitigate the spread of this virus and continue to enjoy our everyday lives.”
The City of Norwalk continues to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and encourages those who have symptoms or have been exposed to get tested and isolate accordingly. For more details about the new testing location, please visit norwalkct.org/testing.
