The Sacred Heart University equestrian team won the High Point Team title at a competition held in Brooklyn, New York, on Sunday. The Pioneers finished with 42 points, narrowly surpassing NYU, which scored 41 points, and LIU with 39 points. Other teams competing included Adelphi (26), Hofstra/Pratt (28), Fairfield (23), Stony Brook (22), and St. Joseph’s (13).
Norah Jackson from Sacred Heart was named High Point Rider after earning first place in both Intermediate Fences (Section B) and Limit Flat (Section A). Her performance contributed significantly to the team’s overall victory.
Other strong performances for Sacred Heart included Kylie Hwalek’s first-place finish in Open Fences (Section A) and second place in Open Flat (Section A). Kayla DeStephanis took first place in Intermediate Flat (Section B), while Ella DiFazio finished second in Section A of the same event.
In Limit Flat events, Sofia Greene secured first place in Section C, and Kallie Ramistella placed third in Section B. For Limit Fences, Olivia Herfert finished third in Section B, while Harley Jimenez earned Reserve honors in Section A.
Additional points were added by Lilliana St. Pierre with a third-place result in Intermediate Fences (Section A), Morgan Gariepy who was third in Pre-Novice Flat (Section A), and Lindsay Chudy who placed second in Introductory Flat (Section C).
